Bang Khun Phrom Palace is under the care of the Bank of Thailand. Originally, it was situated along the Chao Phraya River and comprised two main halls: the main hall and the hall built by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) for Princess Beatrice, who belonged to the royal family. After the palace came under government supervision, it continued to serve as a governmental venue until 1945, when the Bank of Thailand took over its operations. In 1982, it was transformed into the Museum of the Bank of Thailand. The architecture of Bang Khun Phrom Palace features a Baroque and Rococo style, evident in its pediments and exterior walls. The semicircular windows adorned with vine patterns and fruits, along with the tall gable roof, were typical of European architectural trends from the late 19th century (around 1897-1907). Despite the passage of time, Bang Khun Phrom Palace remains a classic example of well-preserved architecture. At the front, there is a circular pavilion known as the 'Horn Pavilion,' built in a European style, originally used for military band performances to welcome guests during formal receptions. Inside the main hall of Bang Khun Phrom Palace, there is a ceremonial staircase distinguished by its wider base that tapers upwards, similar to those found in European designs, notably like the staircase in the Opera Garnier in France. Visitors can take photographs in designated areas around Bang Khun Phrom Palace, as permitted by the staff (which includes the lawn and the curved road in front of the palace), and are allowed to take photos inside the palace, excluding the exhibition room of Princess Beatrice. Admission for the general public is free.
