The Ong Hock Kien Shrine was built as a place of worship and a spiritual anchor to honor our ancestors. It is home to the revered deities, three of which were brought from Fujian Province, and are enshrined as the principal figures within the Hok Kien Shrine. Later, two additional deities were invited to join the shrine: Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy, and the Goddess of the Ruby. In addition to the sacred deities, one of the shrine’s highlights is the dragon at the front, which is capable of spouting water. Visitors who come to pay their respects believe that the water emitted by the dragon is sacred and imbued with spirituality.
