A stunning recreational destination in the middle of a lake, beautifully created from the concept of the floodwater retention project under the royal initiative of King Rama IX. In addition to admiring the breathtaking heart-shaped island, this location also houses Phra Buddha Rattanasiri Sukhothai, where visitors can make wishes for abundance and success in their endeavors. Phra Buddha Rattanasiri Sukhothai is a magnificent bronze Buddha statue in the posture of Mara Vichai. It is believed to have been created during the reign of King Mahathammaratcha Lichai of Sukhothai, dating back over 700 years to around 1845 AD. The statue measures 130 cm across the lap and stands 208 cm tall from the base to the top of the stupa. It is currently temporarily housed at King Rama IX Park in Sukhothai City. If you plan to visit, be sure to choose your time wisely. The midday sun can be quite intense due to the open atmosphere. It is recommended to come in the late afternoon when the sun is setting to pay your respects to Phra Buddha Rattanasiri Sukhothai for good fortune. The early morning and late afternoon are also ideal for jogging and exercising, thanks to the picturesque surroundings of the island encircled by water.
