Located about 1 kilometer from Chiang Saen District in Wiang Sub-district, Wat Pa Sak was established in 1838 by King Saen Phut. He commanded the planting of 300 teak trees around the temple walls, hence the name "Wat Pa Sak." The king appointed Phra Bhuddhakoh Chalerm as the abbot of this monastery. Within the temple lies an important historical site: a central chedi topped with a bell-shaped stupa, embellished with exquisite stucco designs. This chedi houses sacred relics, specifically a fragment of a right ankle bone from the ancient city of Pataliputra.
