Known locally as Wat Luang Phor Thongkham, this temple belongs to the Mahānikāya sect and is located approximately 3 kilometers from the district office of Thung Saliam. It is one of the significant temples in the province. Originally, this site was an abandoned temple in the middle of rice fields, believed to have existed for around 700 years. During my visit, I found the temple to be beautiful and expansive. Its design is influenced by Burmese architecture, with tiled walkways around the temple that make driving and walking smooth and easy. The surface is well-maintained, allowing elderly visitors to walk comfortably without any worries. There is parking available both inside the temple grounds and in a large area outside. On weekends, vendors sell various items, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Each hall in the temple is uniquely beautiful and decorated differently, especially the stunning Luang Phor Thongkham statue, which is pristine. The statue faces all four cardinal directions—north, south, east, and west. You truly must see this temple with your own eyes to appreciate its remarkable beauty.
