Wat Sattathum, commonly referred to by locals as Wat Mon, has been an integral part of this community for many generations. One of the most fascinating features of this temple is its ubosot, which is made from exquisite golden teak wood and adorned with genuine mother-of-pearl, taking the form of a unique Chinese junk ship—one of the only of its kind in Thailand. The foundation of the ubosot is elegantly curved to resemble a ship, while the exterior showcases a colonnade with Thai-style mother-of-pearl inlays. The walls are adorned with intricately designed mother-of-pearl shells depicting celestial beings in graceful poses. The architectural elements on the roof are decorated with garlands beneath the gables, with carvings of swans situated under a ceremonial umbrella on a backdrop of flame patterns. Inside the ubosot, one can find a magnificent statue of Phra Buddha Chinnarat, with a width of 61 inches, serving as the principal Buddha image. Additionally, the temple features statues of renowned monks from across Thailand, such as Luang Pu Thuat, Luang Pu Khao Mahasittichok, and Luang Por Chup, each offering devotees a place to pay their respects and seek blessings.
