Wat Suanluang Sab Wan is located in the western part of the old city of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province (in the former army area). King Ramathibodi II ordered the royal ceremony to construct the crematorium for the late queen consort, Suriyothai, at Suanluang within Wat Sab Wan. He also instructed the establishment of a temple at the site of the crematorium, which features a tall square stupa with twelve-cornered design that houses the ashes of Queen Suriyothai. The temple created at Suanluang in conjunction with Wat Sab Wan is collectively known as "Wat Suanluang Sab Wan." Today, the prominent feature of Wat Suanluang Sab Wan is the large stupa known as Phra Si Suriyothai Stupa. However, this temple now stands abandoned, with its grounds remaining empty and desolate.
