Wat Yai Suwannaram

Phetchaburi City, Phetchaburi.

Wat Yai Suwannaram, originally known as "Wat Noi Pak Tai," is a third-class royal monastery classified as a Worawihan temple. It is located in the Tha Rab Subdistrict of Mueang Phetchaburi District, Phetchaburi Province. The temple underwent significant renovations during the reign of King Rama IV and is home to an important Buddha statue known as Luang Pho Hok Niew. Historically, it also served as the royal hall during the reign of King Tae. The temple is a longstanding symbol of Phetchaburi, embodying the city's rich history, including the time when Burmese forces broke through its doors, leaving traces for us to see today.
