The Phitsanulok City Pillar Shrine is another cultural and historical site in Phitsanulok, serving as the resting place for the city's pillar. It is located along the western bank of the Nan River, directly across from Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, and near the Phitsanulok District Office. The building was designed by the Fine Arts Department in a stupa style, measuring 16.60 meters in width and 10.65 meters in height. His Majesty the King graciously appointed His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn to officiate the opening ceremony of the Phitsanulok City Pillar Shrine on Tuesday, April 8, 1997. The Phitsanulok City Pillar is crafted from various auspicious woods and consists of three parts: the trunk section (from the base to the bud) made of golden shower wood; the second part, the upper bulb, crafted from sandalwood; and the third part, the top section (the lotus bud), which includes a bulb made from teak which was intricately carved by the renowned monk Luang Pu Ngon Sorayo from Wat Phra Buddha Bat Kao Ruak, in Wang Loam, Phichit Province. This pillar, following the Fine Arts Department's design, stands at a height of 3.29 meters and has been gilded to prevent cracking. The pillar underwent a consecration ceremony at Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram (Wat Phra Kaew) in Bangkok on June 10, 1995.
