The Educational Institution and Meditation Center of the World Fellowship of Buddhists serves as a serene sanctuary for spiritual reflection and learning about the teachings of the Buddha. Operating under the auspices of the World Fellowship of Buddhists, this institution was established to foster unity, solidarity, and brotherhood among Buddhists while encouraging strict adherence to the precepts and practices in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha. The organization's mission includes the promotion of social, educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities inspired by the principles of Buddhism. The World Fellowship of Buddhists, or WFB, was founded on May 25, 1950, by the renowned Sri Lankan Pali scholar Dr. Malalasekera. Initially headquartered in Yangon, it moved to Bangkok in 1963, where it remains today. In support of the WFB's objectives, the Educational Institution and Meditation Center was established as a venue for learning about Buddhism and practicing meditation. Meditation classes are held on the first Sunday of each month (conducted in English), while Buddhism courses take place on the third and last Sundays of the month, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. There is no fee for participation. The center is located at 616 Sukhumvit Road, Soi 24, in the Benchasiri Park area, Khlong Toei, Bangkok. It is accessible via public buses numbered 2, 23, 25, 45, 62, 72, 102, 129, 136, 142, 145, 180, 501, 508, 513, and 519. For further inquiries, please call 0 2661 1284-7.
