Khao Chakan Arboretum

Near the fresh market at Khao Chakan.

The Khao Chakan National Forest Park is located in the Khao Chakan subdistrict, adjacent to the Khao Chakan Cave Temple. This mountain ridge forms a 90-degree angle with the north and south directions. The peak of the mountain rises to 240 meters above sea level and consists of a series of three limestone hills: Khao Ming on the left, Khao Chakan in the center as the largest peak, and Khao Phala on the right. These three hills have been designated as the Khao Chakan National Forest Park by the Department of National Parks, and they serve as a habitat for wild monkeys and colonies of bats. At the foothills, you will find the Khao Chakan Cave Temple, which features stairs leading up to the summit. Within Khao Chakan, there are a total of 72 caves, including the Dark Cave, Hanuman Cave, Tunnel Cave, Maha Hing Cave, Nam Thip Cave, and Kaew Phlai Chumphon Cave. One particularly interesting spot is the Tunnel Cave, where you can find a replica of Buddha's footprint as well as a viewpoint that offers a wide panoramic view of the surrounding scenery.
