The Assumption Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of the Assumption, serves as the main cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese in Bangkok. It also hosts three schools: Assumption College, Assumption Convent School, and Assumption College Thonburi. Located in the Bang Rak district of Bangkok, the cathedral was originally constructed in a traditional Thai style by Father Pascal, who was of Thai-Portuguese descent. The current structure was rebuilt in 1909 under the guidance of Father Émile Auguste Colombet, a French priest, to accommodate the growing number of Christians in the area. The new design was overseen by a French architect and featured materials such as marble and stained glass imported from France, Singapore, and Italy.
