Royal Park Rajapruek is located in a landscape filled with flowers, trees, sculptures, and the grand Royal Pavilion, serving as a commemorative site. The park's primary mission is to develop it into an educational hub for horticulture and a tourist destination for agriculture and culture in Chiang Mai province and Thailand. The park was named by His Highness Prince Phisadej Ratchanee, the chairman of the Royal Project Foundation, who submitted a request for the name of the garden in a document dated October 12, 2009. This request was for the garden set to host the World Horticulture Expo in honor of the 2006 Royal Flora at the Royal Agricultural Research Center in Chiang Mai. The name "Royal Flora Rajapruek Garden" was proposed. Subsequently, Lady Butri Veerawattaya, the Deputy Secretary of the Royal Household Bureau, reported the name to the Royal Highnesses, who graciously conferred the name "Royal Park Rajapruek" on January 23, 2010. The park was also given the official English name "Royal Park Rajapruek" as documented in the Royal Household Bureau letter dated March 22, 2010.
