Near Cape Simi La, there’s a paved road leading up to the summit where you can pay respects at the King Rama V commemorative monument. The stunning views of Songkhla city from the top are simply breathtaking. At the base of the hill, you’ll find Khao Noi Park, a public area adorned with ornamental plants shaped like various animals, perfect for relaxation and leisure. This viewpoint is a must-visit when in Songkhla. Khao Noi is not only a scenic spot but also a place for locals to unwind and engage in a variety of enjoyable activities. On the eastern side of Khao Noi, there’s a public park designed for relaxation, complete with restaurants and tennis courts for fitness enthusiasts. The northeastern part of the hill features a free space garden, also decorated with whimsical animal-shaped plants. When you ascend to the top of Khao Noi, don’t forget to pay your respects at the King Rama V monument. King Chulalongkorn’s son, His Royal Highness Prince Yukhithikamphorn, was appointed as the provincial governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat, with Songkhla serving as the central hub for governance over the southern provinces of Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Pattani for fifteen years. He was a beloved ruler, known for his dedication and the numerous benefits he brought to the people of Songkhla and the southern region. Every April 8th, the anniversary of his passing, the province of Songkhla holds a wreath-laying ceremony in remembrance of him, honoring the immense contributions he made to the community.
