The Wat Gate area is located on Charoenrat Road, also known as Wat Gate Road, along the banks of the Ping River, directly opposite the Waroros Market or Kad Luang. This area serves as both a residential community and a cultural tourism hub in Chiang Mai. The Wat Gate district is considered a long-standing cultural street that has been intertwined with Chiang Mai's heritage for many years. It is an ancient commercial area that thrived in the past, rich in stories of culture, architecture, and diverse religions. The neighborhood is characterized by its remarkable beauty, featuring old buildings and houses adorned with valuable architectural styles that line both sides of the street. Some of these structures have been renovated into shops, restaurants, hotels, and accommodations. Wat Gate is another intriguing stop in Chiang Mai, much like the Miman Road area, filled with restaurants and cozy cafes. However, what sets Wat Gate apart is its charming vintage atmosphere, reminiscent of a bygone era.
