Montha Tharn Waterfall is located in the Doi Suthep-Pui National Park in Chiang Mai. However, due to the challenging and hazardous trails, the park currently only allows visitors to explore the two easily accessible tiers of the waterfall. This limited access, nonetheless, is more than adequate and worthwhile for a visit. The first tier boasts a graceful cascade of water flowing majestically down multiple rock ledges. Meanwhile, the second tier features a larger shallow pool, perfect for a refreshing dip. Montha Tharn Waterfall also offers accommodations and a camping area, although it is best to visit during the cool season festivals. During other times, the site may feel a bit too deserted. Montha Tharn Waterfall is one of the stops along the way before ascending Doi Suthep.
