Phra Narai Ratchaniwet is a palace commissioned by King Narai the Great in 1666, covering an area of 41 rai in Lopburi. It served as a residence, hunting lodge, venue for official duties, and a place to welcome dignitaries. The King resided at this palace for approximately 8 to 9 months towards the end of his reign and passed away at the Suthaswan Throne Hall on July 11, 1688. The Museum of Phra Narai Ratchaniwet encompasses the entire palace grounds, which are divided into three sections. After the king's reign, the palace fell into disrepair until King Chulalongkorn graciously ordered its restoration and the reconstruction of several throne halls. Today, Phra Narai Ratchaniwet serves as a museum, showcasing the historical significance and beauty of this remarkable site.
