In the year 1908, His Majesty King Mongkut Klao Chao Yu Hua, while still holding the title of His Royal Highness Crown Prince of Siam, traveled to the northern provinces. During his visit, he beheld several ancient Buddha statues, one of which, located in Si Satchanalai, particularly captivated his royal heart with its exquisite appearance. However, the statue was heavily damaged, preserving only the head, one hand, and the feet. It was estimated to be in the posture of "Phra Himmarati," a form of the Buddha. Consequently, His Majesty ordered the statue to be transported to Bangkok, where artisans were commissioned to recreate the missing parts of the statue, restoring it to its full form.
