“Golden Mountain” is one of the must-visit landmarks in Phra Nakhon, where everyone should check-in at the stupa. Visiting in the morning offers a peaceful vibe perfect for spiritual merit-making, while evening visits provide a beautiful ambiance for stunning photographs. Known as "Boram Borpot," it was built during the reign of King Rama III to enshrine sacred relics received from India. The history of Wat Saket dates back to the ancient Ayutthaya period and was originally named Wat Sakha. His Majesty King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke Maharaj ordered its restoration and the excavation of a canal around the temple, after which it was renamed Wat Saket, meaning "the place for cleansing hair." Rising 77 meters high, the golden stupa at the summit houses the relics discovered in Kapilavatthu and has been verified to belong to Phra Samanakodam, which is part of the Shakya royal lineage, as evidenced by the inscriptions found there.
