The locals refer to the Sakaeo Roundabout, located in the heart of Lopburi, as a magnificent large roundabout that stands proudly. It was constructed during the era of Field Marshal P. Phibunsongkhram. Over time, the original sculpture's design was altered, replaced by a sculpture resembling a candle placed atop a pedestal. Bridges connect the edges of the roundabout in all four directions, and the edges of the pedestal are adorned with various ministry emblems from that period, including the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Finance, among others. Within the roundabout lies a mythical serpent, or Naga, with four heads, along with eight crouching elephant statues symbolizing the military positioned at each bridge's base in all four directions. The elephant statues were intentionally crafted to exhibit muscular features, conveying a sense of strength and ferocity. Surrounding the pond, there is a seating area where visitors can relax. There was once an effort to create a flame sculpture atop a candle, which the Lopburi Municipality implemented in November 1996. However, this design faced criticism for being inappropriate and not aligning with the original intent of its creator, leading to its eventual removal.
