Wat Pathomthena Aranyawasi (Wat Khao Plong)

Khao Tha Phra Subdistrict, Mueang Chainat District

Phathtamthesana Aranya Wasi Temple (Khao Plong Temple) is located in Khaothapra sub-district, Mueang Chainat district. Nestled on the hillside, it serves as a meditation center and is home to the magnificent "Phra Buddha Ariyadhammo," a large Sukhothai-style Buddha statue in the Mara Victory posture. The temple can be accessed by car up to the summit, where a large golden relic of the Buddha is enshrined. It also offers stunning views of Chainat city, both during the day and at night. Inside the main hall at the top of the hill, there are statues of three renowned monks: Luang Por Choon, Luang Por Kob, and Luang Por Opasi.
