Wat Pak Nam is an ancient temple that dates back to the middle of the Ayutthaya period. It has long been renowned and held in great reverence by the people, particularly during the time of Phra Suwat, who emphasized strict adherence to Buddhist monastic discipline for monks and novices. Notably, he also taught samatha and Vipassana meditation, promoting the study of Buddhist scriptures by establishing schools for both dhamma and Pali education. He built the most modern Dhamma schools of that era, attracting numerous monks, novices, and laypeople eager to learn and practice the dharma. Within the temple grounds lies the magnificent Maha Ratana Chedi, and currently, the construction of a grand statue of Buddha Dhammakaya is underway, adding to the temple's splendor.
