Wat Makutkasatriyaram Ratchaworawihan

Krung Kasem Road, Bang Khun Phrom Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon District.

Wat Makutkasattriyaram Ratchaworawihan features significant buildings, including the main prayer hall and the ordination hall. Adorning the pediment and the top of the door frames are intricate designs of the royal crest representing the reign of King Rama IV. Inside the ordination hall, the walls display a diverse array of murals that set this temple apart from others. These artworks depict various stories, including those of the Buddha's disciples in Pali and their commentaries, featuring 11 principal disciples and 8 principal female disciples. Additionally, there are illustrations representing meditation practices and various aspects of the Buddhist monastic code. The windows and doors also showcase meticulously crafted inscriptions of sacred scriptures and mantras, adding to the spiritual atmosphere of the temple.
