Located along Jamthewi Road in the Nai Mueang sub-district, the temple is approximately 500 meters away from the provincial hall, next to the old city moat. It is believed that this temple was established during the reign of Queen Jamthewi in the city of Hariphunchai around 1200 AD. One of the interesting features is the Buddha statue known as Phra Buddha Sikhi or the Black Stone Buddha, which was brought by Queen Jamthewi from the city of Lawo. Locals refer to this statue as Phra Rod Luang or Phra Rod Lamphun, which holds significant importance and serves as a model for crafting amulets called Phra Rod Mahawan.
