Another must-visit temple in Lampang is Wat Mon Cham Sin. According to the legends, this temple served as a meditation site for Princess Cham Thewi when she established the city of Khelang Nakhon, which is how it got its name, meaning "Temple of Meditation." This temple can be considered a hidden gem featuring exquisite ancient Burmese architecture that enriches the cultural landscape of Lampang. Inside the temple grounds, you will find three large Burmese-style stupas. The first, known as the "Golden Stupa," is surrounded by four walls, with its pinnacle beautifully gilded in gold. The second is referred to as the "Arahant Stupa of the Eight Directions," which features statues representing the Arahants in each of the eight cardinal directions. At the innermost area lies the "Hermit Stupa," which resembles the Golden Stupa but unfortunately shows signs of wear and deterioration. Additionally, there is an ancient teak hall built in traditional Burmese architecture, characterized by its tiered roofs called "Zaw." This stunning structure dates back hundreds of years but has sadly fallen into disrepair over time.
