Wat Huakhuang is located near the Yamha Gate and is an ancient temple believed to have been constructed around the same period as Phra That Cho Ha (in 1387 AD) and Wat Phra That Luang Neung. The local people of Phrae consider Wat Huakhuang to be a significant temple in the Huawiang area. The stupa, which demonstrates Lanna architectural style, is the largest in Phrae. One of the most intriguing features within the temple is the Phra That of Wat Huakhuang, which is over 1,200 years old. Legend has it that a mystical orb emerged from the tip of the stupa. The assembly hall, showcasing the Lanna architectural style, has been restored by the Department of Fine Arts, further enhancing this temple's historical significance and charm.
