Wat Hua Lamphong is located right next to the Sam Yan station of the MRT, with Too Fast To Sleep, a popular workspace for local students, situated nearby. Across the street, you will find Sam Yan Mitrtown, Chaemjuree Square, and the Sam Yan Church. Originally named "Wat Wua Lam Phong," this temple is a public temple believed to have been established during the early Rattanakosin period. In 1890, King Chulalongkorn became the first to construct a railway in Thailand and named the Bangkok station Hua Lamphong, which is located about 2 kilometers from Wat Wua Lam Phong. During his royal visit to offer the kathina robe at Wat Wua Lam Phong, he kindly changed the temple's name to Wat Hua Lamphong.
