Wat Chedi Hoi is a temple located between Ayutthaya and Pathum Thani provinces. It is easily accessible and offers ample parking space. The temple features a fish pond that, in the past, revealed a large number of giant oyster shells when excavated. The architectural style of the temple is Burmese, as seen in the principal Buddha statue, Phra Buddha Narumitrattanachana Mar, which reflects Burmese design. Many visitors come here to pay their respects and worship the amulets available. The history of this temple is quite fascinating. It originated from the experiences of a monk who went on a pilgrimage to Burma, where he met a master for a year and studied esoteric knowledge until he became proficient. He then returned to the cave known as Oeng Juk in Srisaweed district, Kanchanaburi province. It was here that he envisioned the current location as a great city named Rattanawadi, which existed 8 million years ago, and he himself was the ruler of that city. Following this vision, he traveled in search of this site and was determined to establish a monastery here. While digging the pond to store water for medicinal plants, he uncovered an immense number of giant oyster shells embedded in the ground, dating back thousands of years. Ultimately, these giant oyster shells were used to create a stupa, giving the temple its name, "Wat Chedi Hoi," which endures to this day.
