“Wat Phai Rom” is a famous and beautiful temple located in Nakhon Pathom, not far from the Phra Pathom Chedi, making it easily accessible for visitors. The temple often sees tourists stopping by to make merit. In the past, this area was deserted, a dense bamboo grove that offered peace and tranquility. Many monks seeking enlightenment would come to meditate and practice their spiritual disciplines here. Recognizing the potential of this serene location, local residents advocated for its establishment as a monastery and invited monks from Wat Phra Pathom Chedi to stay periodically. As more monks began residing at the temple, the population in the area increased. The once thick bamboo forest was gradually cleared by villagers to create space for homes, with only remnants of bamboo left around the temple. This led to the name “Wat Phai Rom,” which translates to "Surrounded by Bamboo," marking the historical significance of the area's transformation.
