This is the spiritual center of Sa Kaeo province, where His Majesty the King blessed the city pillar and the city plate on September 12, 1996. Subsequently, a ceremony was held to erect the city pillar in its shrine on September 25, 1996. The Sak Kaeo City Pillar Shrine has been constructed according to the standard design of the Architectural Division of the Fine Arts Department. The shrine is situated within the bounds of the Kanjanapisek Park and features a central prang surrounded by five smaller prangs connected by walkways. The Sak Kaeo city pillar is located in the main prang and is made from a sacred Chaiyaphruek tree, adhering to ancient royal traditions. The base of the pillar has a circumference of 120 inches and stands 229 inches tall. Inside the shrine is adorned with the golden city plate of Sak Kaeo, attracting many visitors who come to pay their respects for good fortune.
