Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, located on Rama 4 Road in the Pathum Wan district, was first established in 1956 by Major General Praphas Charusathien, who was then serving as the commander of the 1st Infantry Division. The primary purpose of the stadium was to provide welfare for army personnel and to promote and preserve the art of Muay Thai. It aimed to establish a stable career for boxers and help them generate income, as well as to develop world-class boxing champions. Later, as the lease on the original location neared its end, the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium committee decided to relocate to the Army Sports Development Center on Ram Inthra Road, near the Army Golf Course and adjacent to Soi Lad Pla Khao, ensuring convenient access. This boxing arena is renowned for its high standards. It has been designed using modern construction technologies with a focus on nature and the environment. Spanning over 6 rai and 2 ngan, it includes three main buildings. The first building is the Lumpinee Boxing Arena, which hosts both Muay Thai and international boxing matches, accommodating more than 5,000 spectators. It is equipped with a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, along with a large LED screen. Surrounding the arena, there is a cultural plaza for events and Muay Thai training, as well as restaurants and beverage stalls catering to boxing fans. The second building is the office building, which has three floors. The first floor features a Muay Thai museum, the second floor contains meeting rooms and VIP guest lounges, while the third floor serves as office space. The final building is a modern and spacious parking facility that comfortably accommodates vehicles, with international standard security systems. It consists of five floors; the first floor offers various amenities, including a restaurant, sauna, and Thai massage services. Floors two through five provide parking space for over 300 vehicles.
