Sai Thong National Park

Wang Takhe, Nong Bua Rahewa.

Sai Thong National Park covers a forested area on the Phang Hei mountain range in the districts of Nong Bua Rawe, Thep Sathit, Pak Chit Chumphon, and Nong Bua Daeng. The park spans 319 square kilometers and serves as the source of several streams that are tributaries of the Chi River. The forest is comprised of dry dipterocarp forests, mixed deciduous forests, and is notably rich in bamboo species. This area is a breathtaking natural tourist attraction. Within the park, one of the main highlights is Sai Thong Waterfall, located just 1 kilometer from the park headquarters via road, followed by a 400-meter walk. Although it's a low waterfall with a height of only 5 meters, it stretches approximately 80 meters wide, creating a large natural pool at the base known as "Wang Sai," perfect for swimming. Above Sai Thong Waterfall is a larger pool called "Wang Nguak," where water cascades down a winding stone surface leading to the waterfall. The distance from Sai Thong Waterfall to Chuan Chom Waterfall is 2 kilometers, featuring a nature trail rich in various points of interest, such as Phra Phim Jai, a dense patch of tree ferns, and Busabakkorn Waterfall, all while surrounded by diverse and beautiful flora. Chuan Chom Waterfall is located 2 kilometers further along the nature trail and boasts a height of 20 meters, surrounded by lush trees and fields of blooming "Bua Sawan" flowers, or Siam tulips, situated about 10 kilometers from the park headquarters on the western ridge of the Phang Hei mountain range. From late June to the end of August, the Siam tulips are in full bloom, showcasing stunning pink and white flowers. Phra Phu Mueang, about 10 kilometers from the park headquarters, presents a cliffside view along the western ridge leading to the Bua Sawan field, extending approximately 3 kilometers at an elevation of 700 to 908 meters above sea level, offering breathtaking views of Pak Chit Chumphon district and the Phaya Fo mountain range. Adjacent to Chaiyaphum and Phetchabun provinces are scenic trails winding along the cliff edge, featuring four notable viewpoints: Pha Plern Jai, Pha Adit Asong, Pha Suan Sawang, and Pha Ham Hod, the latter being known as one of the most thrilling cliffs to sit on for a panoramic view. Entry fees are 40 baht for Thai adults, 20 baht for Thai children, 200 baht for foreign adults, and 100 baht for foreign children. The Pha Ham Hod viewpoint is the highest point of the Phang Hei mountain range, standing 864 meters above sea level with cool weather year-round. The park provides camping facilities to enjoy the chilly atmosphere, along with guesthouses ranging from 400 to 2,700 baht. For more information, contact Sai Thong National Park at P.O.
