Koh Tao: A Paradise for Divers Exploring Rare Fish and Beautiful, Pristine Coral Reefs Nestled in the heart of the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Tao boasts some of the most stunning and thriving coral reefs in the country. Located in Surat Thani Province, this island has a crescent shape resembling a bean. It lies approximately 45 kilometers northwest of Koh Phangan. Chalok Baan Kao Beach, situated in Moo 3 on Koh Tao, is a southern bay characterized by its long stretch of soft, white sand that extends about 500 meters. Beautiful rock formations surround the beach, which is the second most popular diving spot on the island. The area is dotted with numerous dive shops, accommodations, restaurants, tour companies, and bars along the main road. The beach's picturesque setting allows for sunbathing during low tide, attracting many visitors. As the largest diving hub on Koh Tao, Chalok Baan Kao Beach sees a steady influx of boats coming and going throughout the day, resulting in a lively atmosphere. While the bustling activity does introduce some water murkiness, particularly on the western side of the beach, it adds to the vibrant charm of this stunning destination.
