Vajiralongkorn Dam

Tha Khanuan, Thong Pha Phum District.

The Vajiralongkorn Dam stands as a symbol of Thong Pha Phum District, often attracting tourists who are eager to admire the breathtaking views of the lake from the dam's crest and capture memorable photographs during their visit to Thong Pha Phum. Originally named the Khao Laem Dam, it is the first rock-fill dam in Thailand to feature a reinforced concrete surface. Located on the Kwan Noi River, this multipurpose dam primarily aims to generate electricity. It was constructed to block the Kwan Noi River in the area of Tha Khun Nam, Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province. The reservoir extends into both Thong Pha Phum and Sangkhla Buri Districts in Kanchanaburi Province.
