The first irrigation dam in Thailand and a major waterway that benefits agricultural irrigation by channeling water from the rivers in the north to the central region and the Gulf of Thailand, it directs water to the cultivation areas in Central Thailand through five main canals: the Minor River, Tha Chin River, Makham Thao-U Thong Canal, Chai Nat-Pasak Canal, and Chai Nat-Ayutthaya Canal. Additionally, it is utilized for electricity generation supplied to Chai Nat province. The dam's construction demonstrates remarkable strength. The ideal time to visit is in January, as the early months of the year offer a cool and refreshing atmosphere, complemented by beautiful and pleasant views. Visitors can witness flocks of thousands of waterfowl foraging along the river upstream of the dam, creating a stunning natural scene that is rare to find.
