Pluak Daeng Development Service Center Project under the Royal Initiative

Mae Nam Khun Sub-district, Pluak Daeng District.

**Livestock Promotion and Agricultural Development Center at Dok Kraiy Reservoir** Rayong and Chonburi provinces, located along the eastern seaboard of Thailand, are known not only for their local fishermen who venture into the beautiful and famous Andaman Sea but also for agriculture, which serves as another vital source of income for the residents of these two provinces. Agricultural tourism is becoming an increasingly popular activity for nature lovers, providing them with an opportunity to connect with the earthy scents of soil and foliage. Back in 1980, the forest areas of Rayong and Chonburi were heavily degraded, leading to barren soil and a lack of water sources. In response to this environmental challenge, His Majesty the King initiated the establishment of the Pluak Daeng Development Center in Rayong-Chonburi to serve as a hub for agricultural careers and special crafts for local residents along the banks of the Dok Kraiy Reservoir. This initiative aimed to enhance agricultural practices, animal husbandry, and fisheries for consumption. Today, the center operates as a well-equipped training facility with buildings and demonstration farms, making it an excellent site for educational visits. **Must-Visit Attractions** - **Dok Kraiy Reservoir**: The main reservoir that acts as the lifeblood of the project. - **Land Development Department**: A venue for learning about various land development strategies tailored to the area's potential. The Pluak Daeng Development Center, based on the King's Initiative, was established as a branch of the Khao Hin Sorn Development Study Center in Chachoengsao, promoting knowledge sharing and mutual support for ongoing operations. **Unmissable Activities** - Engage in educational activities related to land development, such as composting, organic fertilizers, herbal plant cultivation, and pesticide-free vegetable farming. - Attend demonstrations on integrated livestock breeding alongside crop planting and fisheries, following the philosophy of sufficiency economy.
