The Rattanakosin Exhibition is located within a building on Ratchadamnoen Klang Road, beside the Phra Phutthabat Maha Chakkaphat Pavilion and Wat Ratchanaddaram Worawihan. This exhibition narrates the story of the Rattanakosin era through various modern technological media, such as 4D virtual reality, multi-touch interfaces, and multimedia animations. The exhibition is divided into nine rooms, showcasing the birth of the Rattanakosin Kingdom under the extraordinary leadership of King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke Maharaj. It features a meticulously crafted miniature of the Grand Palace—the most perfect model in Thailand—animation films depicting the legend of the Emerald Buddha, and a 360-degree view of royal performances. The exhibition also highlights the royal duties of all nine reigns of the Chakri Dynasty, important royal ceremonies, architecture, culture, and the way of life of the communities on Rattanakosin Island. Additionally, there is a library that collects rare books and multimedia resources covering all aspects of the Rattanakosin era. Visitors can find a relaxation area with beverages while enjoying the stunning view of the golden stupa atop Phra Boromma Bhat Mountain, or Golden Mount, as well as the impressive Mahakan Fort and the exquisite Loha Prasat of Wat Ratchanaddaram. The Rattanakosin Exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (closed on Mondays). The admission fee is 100 Baht for Thai and foreign adults. Children (under 120 cm), students (up to undergraduate level), monks, novices, disabled persons, and seniors aged 60 and above can enter free of charge with ID verification.
