Wat Phra Phutthabat in Saraburi is regarded as a significant cultural tourist attraction. It features a beautifully preserved footprint of the Buddha and is a popular site for followers of Somdet To, who frequently visit to make merit and pay their respects. The temple and the Buddha footprint are easily accessible, making it ideal for families, including elderly members, as there’s no need to climb several hundred stairs or transfer between multiple vehicles. You can reach the hall with the Buddha's footprint after ascending just about 80 steps. Visitors can park in the lot in front of the temple and enter through the giant door. The pathway has sturdy handrails, and the overall atmosphere is pleasant and airy, making it a very comfortable visit. According to the Royal Chronicles of Ayutthaya, a group of Thai monks traveled to Lanka to pay homage to the footprint of the Buddha. The Lankan monks noted that Thailand already had a footprint at Khao Suwannaphrat, which they reported to King Phra Boromathat. This led to the discovery of the footprint, which has since become an object of worship and a center of great faith. Wat Phra Phutthabat has been a royal temple that has been nurtured by nearly every monarch who has visited and paid homage, from the Ayutthaya period to the Rattanakosin era.
