The story goes that during the early days of development in establishing the new city of Sisaket, the "Luang Por To" statue was discovered unexpectedly in the heart of a dense forest known as Pa Daeng. This prompted the creation of a temple at the site of the statue's discovery, originally named "Wat Phra To" or "Wat Pa Daeng."
