Koh Kood

Koh Kood, Koh Kood.

Located as the easternmost island of Thailand in the waters of Trat, Koh Kood is the second-largest island in the area, and the fourth largest in the country. However, it is not the size that draws visitors to Koh Kood; rather, it is the enchanting turquoise waters that make it a paradise for sea lovers seeking peace amid the simple lifestyle of the local fishing community. There are plenty of activities to enjoy on the island: - **Visit Klong Jao Waterfall**, a year-round cascading waterfall with three tiers. The lower tier features a stream from a large waterfall where visitors can safely swim. This historical waterfall was once visited by King Rama VI in 1921, and he named it "Anam Krok Waterfall" in memory of King Gia Long of Vietnam, who sought refuge in Thailand during the reign of King Rama I. - **Partake in various beach activities** or relax in resorts scattered around the island, such as at Aow Tatin, Klong Yai Ki Beach, Laem Hin Dam, Klong Jao Beach, Ngam Kho Beach, Laem Bang Bao, Aow Prao Beach, Laem Tien, Aow Sapparod, Laem Sala, Aow Yai Ko, Aow Klong Hin, and Aow Chak. - **Explore the fishing lifestyle at Aow Salad**, where seafood restaurants offer fresh catch, which you can even take back to your resort to prepare yourself. - **Experience the serene beauty of Klong Mad Village**, the oldest village on Koh Kood. The locals sustain their livelihoods through agriculture, rubber plantations, coconut groves, fruit orchards, and coastal fishing. **Travel Tips:** Getting to Koh Kood can be done via boat from Laem Sok Pier, with multiple companies offering services.
