ประการสำคัญที่สุดคือพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนารถ ทรงเสด็จมากระทำพิธีเปิด เมื่อ ๒๕ มกราคม ๒๕๑๔ ในปี พ.ศ.๒๕๑๙ ทางจังหวัดได้มอบให้ทหารเป็นผู้ดูแลรับผิดชอบ เพราะได้สร้างไว้ในเขตทหาร
