วัดถาวรวราราม (คั้นถ่อตื่อ) หรือที่ชาวบ้านนิยมเรียกสั้น ๆ ว่า “วัดญวน” นั้น เป็นวัดในพระพุทธศาสนาฝ่ายอนัมนิกายลัทธิมหายาน และมีชื่อตามภาษาญวนว่า “คั้นถ่อตื่อ” ที่แปลเป็นไทยว่า “อยู่อย่างมั่นคงถาวร” และชื่อวัดถาวรวรารามนี้ พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ ๕ พระราชทานนามไว้ ส่วนการสร้างวัดเกิดขึ้นในรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ ๓ และถือเป็นวัดญวนแห่งแรกของจังหวัดกาญจนบุรีที่มีอายุกว่าร้อยปีแล้ว โดยการก่อสร้างริเริ่มจากครอบครัวชาวญวนที่นับถือพระพุทธศาสนา (ชาวญวนที่อพยพมาหลังการทำสงครามระหว่างไทยกับเวียดนามในสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๓) ร่วมแรงร่วมใจบริจาคทุนทรัพย์สร้างวัดขึ้นในราวปี พ.ศ. ๒๓๗๗

Wat Thawon Wararam 寺（Khan Tho Tue），或村民简称为“Wat Yuan”，是大乘安南派的一座佛教寺庙。并根据越南语命名“Crush Taw Tue”翻译成泰语为“永久停留”和这个永久wararam寺庙的名字朱拉隆功国王陛下拉玛五世赐予这个名字至于寺庙的建造，它发生在拉玛三世国王统治时期，被认为是北碧府第一座拥有一百多年历史的越南寺庙。建造是由一个崇尚佛教的越南家庭发起的。 （拉玛三世在位期间泰越战争后移居的越南人）于1834年前后捐资建庙。
