The Phra Buddha Mongkol Maharaj is a large Buddha statue located on Khao Hong Hill in the municipal park of Hat Yai, under the jurisdiction of Koh Hong Subdistrict, Hat Yai District. It is one of the largest statues in the southern region and is regarded as the "Buddha statue of Hat Yai." This magnificent sculpture was created out of the devotion of both Thai and foreign Buddhists in honor of the 6th cycle birthday celebration on December 5, 1999 (72 years) of His Majesty King Rama IX.
