Discover the past and present lifestyle of the Samphanthawong people at the Samphanthawong Museum, a central hub for collecting rich historical narratives, daily life stories, and the wisdom of the Samphanthawong community. Notably, it highlights the stories and culture of the Thai-Chinese population, who make up the majority in this area. The exhibition details the influx of Chinese immigrants, the birth of communities in the Samphanthawong district, the migration rates across different eras, occupations, artistic culture, and the values that shape everyday life. It also narrates the significance of important places within the Samphanthawong area, reflecting the region's prosperous history and peaceful coexistence among Thais, Chinese, and other ethnic groups. All the information is presented in a series of exhibitions and beautifully crafted, modern, and easy-to-understand displays. The museum is divided into three main sections: The first exhibition room tells the story using images, illustrating the journey of Chinese immigrants and their way of life, communicated through watercolor paintings by the talented artist, Ajarn Jakrapan Posayakrit. It showcases important areas such as Charoen Krung Road, Wat Ko area, Saphan Han, and Wong Nak Khakesem. The next exhibition features real-life objects and images, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of ancient Chinese shops, including a traditional Chinese herbal shop with antique tools, a gold shop characteristic of Yaowarat, a rice shop, and a grocery store.
