Located on Mitphap Thai-Chinese Road in the Talad Noi area of Sampanthawong, this ancient temple, originally known as "Wat Sam Chin," is situated in a low-lying area and constructed entirely of wood. It is believed that three Chinese advocates collaboratively established the temple to serve as a sanctuary for charitable contributions. The name was later changed to Wat Traimit, which is well-known among locals in Yaowarat. Here, you can find the Phra Buddha Maha Suwan Patimakorn (Golden Buddha), a remarkable solid gold statue weighing an astonishing 5.5 tons. According to records in the Guinness Book of World Records, the value of the gold alone is approximately £28.5 million. This statue is considered one of the significant Buddha images of Wat Mahathat in Sukhothai Province.
