Constructed in 1922 during the reign of King Rama VI, this building served as the provincial hall of Trat. The architectural design is in the colonial style, featuring wooden construction elevated on stilts with a traditional Thai-style gabled roof. Unfortunately, the building suffered significant damage due to a fire, but the Fine Arts Department has since restored it to its original form. They have also transformed the surroundings into the Trat City Museum, creating a space for learning about the cultural heritage, nature, and the traditional way of life of the people of Trat. The museum is beautifully designed and highly valuable, divided into six zones: the Natural and Cultural Heritage of Trat, the People of Trat, the Sequence of Archaeological Findings and the History of Trat, Significant Events during the reign of King Chulalongkorn, the Battle of Koh Chang, and the Trat Market. The museum is open from Tuesday to Friday (closed on Mondays) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Admission prices are as follows: Thai adults 10 baht, children 5 baht; foreign adults 30 baht, children 10 baht. For more information, please call 08 6450 5263.
