Wat Phra Phai Luang is a Theravada Buddhist temple under the supervision of the Mahānikāya sect, located within the Sukhothai Historical Park. The temple has a history dating back to the Sukhothai Kingdom, making it an ancient site with resident monks. It is situated outside the northern city wall, set within a rectangular area surrounded by three tiers of moats. Wat Phra Phai Luang was a central hub for the community before the establishment of the Sukhothai Kingdom. The oldest structure in the temple complex is the three stupas, constructed from laterite, showcasing architectural designs and artistic features reminiscent of the Khmer Bayon style from the reign of King Jayavarman VII.
