Rama Temple

The sub-district of Pratu Chai in the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district.

In front of Wat Phra Ram lies Phra Ram Swamp. Today, the ruins within the temple consist mostly of the pillars in the main ordination hall, seven annexes, one wall, and, most importantly, the stupa, which is a large ancient Khmer-style structure. Inside, there are wall paintings on both sides depicting the Buddha seated in the Mara Victory posture on a throne. The colors used are red, indigo, yellow, and black, representing early Ayutthaya period artwork. Unfortunately, much of the original detail has faded over time.
