Wat Saraphi, Suphan Buri

Ban Pho Road, Mueang Suphan Buri District.

In addition to the Phra Buddha Munee Si Mongkhon, or Luang Por Yai, who is over 100 years old and resides in the Maha Uthum Temple, another attraction that draws visitors to Wat Sarapheek is the statue of Phra In riding the elephant Airavata. This statue was created by a previous abbot more than 50 years ago. Crafted from lime, the statue of Phra In on Airavata holds a special significance as the former abbot was a traditional healer. He incorporated ancient medicinal texts, sacred objects, and auspicious materials within the body of the elephant, adding to its spiritual importance.

Province: Suphan Buri
