Jui Tui Shrine

283 Tuchara Alley, Ranong Road, Talat Nuea, Phuket Town

One of the most interesting ancient shrines in Phuket is the Jui Tui Shrine, also known by its other name, Jui Tui Tao Bo Keng. The word "Jui" in Chinese means water, while "Tui" translates to a mortar used for grinding rice. Historically, there was a wide canal in front of the shrine that held a significant amount of water, and the local villagers built a waterwheel to harness this flow for grinding rice after harvests. The shrine’s name originates from this event. Within the shrine, you can admire the stunning beauty of traditional Chinese decor, characterized by a vibrant red and gold color scheme, which are considered lucky colors in Chinese culture. Additionally, you can pay your respects to the many Chinese deities represented throughout the shrine. Location: The shrine is situated in Phuthon Alley, next to the Put Jaw Shrine.
